Why You Need A Recovery Week
“I’m a machine!” “I don’t need a week off!” These two statements seem to be the mantra that a lot of gym rats echo in the weight lifting arena. One of the hardest things I hate doing during an intense workout cycle is taking a week to let my body get the rest that it needs to recover. Quiet frankly I would rather be bringing it with P90X, or doing what I do best which is training for half-marathons and marathons. I mean, who really needs a recovery week anyways? Well, I do and so do you if you want to see significant muscle growth and achieve your fitness goals.
The recovery week is one of the most under rated, over looked weeks in any fitness program. It’s unattractive and you may even feel like you are cheating yourself out of the sweat that your used to getting. But muscles grow when we take little breaks and go slow!
